Vitrum, the international trade fair specialized in machinery, equipment, and plants for flat glass processing, was held from October 5 to 8 in Milan. TUROMAS, the Spanish machinery manufacturer, participated as an exhibitor after two years without trade fair activity.
This biennial event was the first post-pandemic exhibition for the European glass sector. After this period of isolation, Vitrum helped reconnect clients and suppliers with the market in a fast, safe, and effective way. It served as a meeting point where the current reality of the sector and the challenges it will face in the coming year were brought into focus.
TUROMAS was represented by Antonio Ortega, Chief Executive Officer; Álvaro Tomás, Vice President of TUROMAS; Álvaro Doñate, Sales Director for Spain and Portugal; Oriol Llorens, Sales Director for Europe; and Teresa Catalán, Marketing Manager.
Visitors who came to the stand had the opportunity to explore in more detail the complete range of standardized machinery for monolithic glass, laminated glass, and intelligent storage systems, as well as the customized solutions offered by TUROMAS.
In particular, the event allowed the Spanish company to present the advances and innovations it had developed over the past year: the new generation of edge deletion systems and the new 6-meter loading and cutting table model – RUBI 406VA.
Most visits came from European countries. In particular, the most notable projects and meetings came from the United Kingdom, Ireland, Cyprus, Portugal, Spain, Russia, Ukraine, Greece, Romania, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and France, although there was also South African representation.

The participation of the Teruel-based company in the international exhibition was both rewarding and productive. Despite being the first return to in-person trade fairs, the commercial team was satisfied with the attendance and reception at the event, as visitor flow was controlled but high in quality.
Vitrum 2021 confirmed that, despite the interruption caused by COVID, companies in the sector will continue to rely on this format of in-person events. They have been and will continue to be an essential part of the business, providing an excellent commercial showcase as well as strong international exposure.
