Vidres Ponent upgrades its glass storage, loading, and cutting processes with TUROMAS technology, optimizing storage capacity by more than 1,000 m².

Vidres Ponent, S.L., founded in 1992 in Torrefarrera, Lleida (Spain), is a company specialized in the manufacturing and processing of flat glass for construction and architectural applications. Over more than three decades, it has consolidated its position in the market, standing out for its commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability.

With the aim of optimizing operational efficiency and increasing production capacity, Vidres Ponent has made a significant investment in TUROMAS machinery. Specifically, an LA-06 intelligent overhead loading system has been installed, along with two automatic sorting systems SC-06 with a total capacity of 576 tons distributed across 76 positions. Regarding cutting, two cutting lines have been installed: one for monolithic glass, RUBI 303C, and a mixed line for laminated glass consisting of a RUBI 306TC + LAM304.

What is Vidres Ponent, S.L.?

Vidres Ponent, S.L. is a company specialized in the manufacturing and processing of glass for construction and architectural applications. Founded in 1992, it has evolved over the years, overcoming major challenges such as the 2008 financial crisis and the 2020 pandemic, to become a benchmark in quality, technology, and innovation within the glass industry.

How did the need for new TUROMAS cutting machines arise?

At Vidres Ponent, we are highly focused on productivity and process improvement. Our commitment to enhancing the production chain and reorganizing the factory led us to contact TUROMAS to bring our project to life.

Which TUROMAS machines have been installed? Why are they the best solution for Vidres Ponent? What would you highlight?

At Vidres Ponent, we currently operate three TUROMAS systems:

  1. LA-06 Intelligent Loader:

This system significantly reduces loading times by efficiently feeding glass sheets to the cutting tables, optimizing production and minimizing idle time.

We highlight its organizational capacity, allowing us to store more material in less space. Specifically, we have reduced storage surface by 1,000 square meters thanks to the installation of two SC-06 automatic sorting systems with a total capacity of 576 tons of jumbo glass distributed across 76 positions (56 units x 190 mm and 20 units x 350 mm).

Its integration with the LA-06 loader has significantly improved cutting table productivity, optimizing workflows and reducing handling times.

2. RUBI 303C monolithic glass cutting table: one of the fastest solutions on the market for small-format glass cutting. It incorporates honeycomb belts for automatic glass loading and unloading, as well as an edge deletion system for low-emissivity coated glass.

3. Mixed line RUBI 306TC with LAM 304: a cutting line for jumbo monolithic glass combined with a cutting bridge for laminated glass. Both cutting bridges are equipped with edge deletion systems for low-emissivity glass.

Its national manufacturing is an added value for us, as we are committed to supporting companies that operate within our country.

TUROMAS machines have allowed us to reorganize our factory, reducing space while increasing efficiency. Thanks to this investment, we have created a highly competitive production chain, improving delivery times and raising quality standards across all our projects.
