In 2025, TUROMAS celebrates 40 years of history, consolidating its position as a family-owned company and international benchmark in the design and manufacturing of intelligent machinery for the storage, loading, and cutting of monolithic and laminated glass.
To mark this 40th anniversary, the company organized a two-day event on September 11 and 12, bringing together its entire commercial network, clients, distributors, institutions, and employees in an event defined by innovation, recognition, and a strong commitment to the future. The celebration took place in Rubielos de Mora, the town where TUROMAS was founded in 1985 and where its headquarters remain today.
The event welcomed guests from around the world, including representatives from India, Africa, Poland, Finland, the United Kingdom, Bulgaria, Austria, Estonia, Germany, Belgium, France, Portugal, Spain (from all regions), the United States, Mexico, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, and Colombia — reinforcing the company’s global reach from its base in Teruel.

Leadership insights: history, identity, and future challenges
The event included guided tours of the facilities, live machinery demonstrations, and the presentation of the new LAM 600 laminated glass cutting line. The institutional session took place at CIDET (TUROMAS Center for Innovation and Special Developments), where the company’s history was reviewed and key strategic projects were introduced.
In his speech, Álvaro Tomás, CEO of TUROMAS, highlighted the value of being a family-owned company and emphasized the importance of territory and people as core elements of the company’s identity: the strong roots in Rubielos de Mora, the founders’ vision, and the talent of its team have been key to TUROMAS’ international consolidation. In this context, he expressed gratitude to clients, suppliers, institutions, and especially to the team behind the company:
“This is a sincere and honest thank you, because all of you have been part of TUROMAS’ story over these 40 years. Our identity is built on three key pillars: the founder’s vision, the territory where we were born, and the people who are part of this project. From a small town in Teruel, we have proven that it is possible to compete successfully across five continents.”

Meanwhile, José Luis Escriche, Chief Operating Officer, emphasized that reaching 40 years is not the end of a stage, but rather the starting point for new challenges in automation, digitalization, sustainability, talent development, and international expansion.
Global vision with local roots
Over four decades, TUROMAS has successfully combined strong local roots with a clear international outlook. From Rubielos de Mora — where all machine components are designed, manufactured, and assembled — the company began its international expansion in 1992. Today, it operates in more than 100 countries, with its own subsidiaries in Chile, Colombia, and Mexico.

Teresa Catalán, Marketing Director, highlighted the importance of the team behind the company’s success:
“Celebrating 40 years is not only about looking back, but about securing a sustainable future and continuing to create opportunities from our territory. Today, we are more than 100 professionals, most of them from the Gúdar-Javalambre region, with an increasing presence of women in a traditionally male-dominated sector.”

Innovation and sustainability as drivers of growth
The anniversary also served as a platform to present some of the company’s upcoming milestones. These include the launch of a new corporate website, designed to enhance user experience with a mega menu, line configurator, and product comparison tool, as well as ongoing R&D advancements, including the development of a new laminated glass cutting line, to be officially unveiled at Glasstec 2026. These innovations were presented by Miguel Ángel, Head of R&D, and Álvaro Doñate, Area Manager Spain-Portugal, who detailed the features and benefits of the new solutions.
In addition, new sustainability initiatives were announced, including facility expansion planned for 2026, the installation of solar panels, the progressive transition of the company fleet to electric vehicles, and the implementation of measures to reduce the carbon footprint.

The closing moment
The event concluded with a commemorative lunch at Masía La Torre, accompanied by live music — a reflection of the close and human spirit that defines TUROMAS.
After four decades of effort, innovation, and growth, the company reaffirms its commitment to continue delivering cutting-edge technological solutions to the glass industry, maintaining its strong connection to its roots, and strengthening its international presence.
