Colombia Glass established itself as a major event for Latin American countries in its second edition, held on November 20 and 21. This essential gathering for the most prominent glass companies from Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, and Panama took place at the Sheraton Bogotá Hotel.
Glass professionals attending the event visited leading suppliers of machinery and technological solutions for the industry, including TUROMAS. The Spanish company chose Colombia Glass to officially present TUROMAS Colombia, its new branch in Bogotá.
Bogotá, Sao Paulo, and Santiago de Chile are the three cities where the company has opened its three branches within a three-year period, from 2016 to 2019, as the Latin American market is considered decisive for TUROMAS’ expansion plan.
The new subsidiary in the Colombian capital serves customers across Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, the Dominican Republic, and Venezuela. These clients are supported by a dedicated team of sales representatives and technicians officially certified by TUROMAS in Spain, providing solutions for any machinery installation or repair needs.
In addition to technical and commercial support, customers also have access to machines and a full range of spare parts and consumables available in stock for immediate delivery.
Furthermore, Latin American consumers seeking advanced software solutions to improve the interpretation and management of their companies’ production data receive direct advice to get the most out of TUROMAS’ Industry 4.0 applications.
The TUROMAS Colombia Team
At the head of the TUROMAS Colombia team is Juan David Dávila. This mechatronics engineer and industrial automation specialist has over a decade of experience in the flat glass machinery sector.
Juan took part in the presentation of TUROMAS Colombia alongside Antonio Ortega, CEO of TUROMAS. During his presentation, he introduced the staff working at the new branch and expressed his firm commitment to meeting the high performance standards that characterize the Spanish firm.
Before Juan spoke, Antonio discussed the past, present, and future of the company. In 1992, seven years after its founding, the company began its internationalization process. From then until now, customers from 120 countries across five continents have placed their trust in TUROMAS smart machinery.
Alongside the expansion of its presence beyond Spanish borders, the firm’s investment, production space, and hired qualified personnel continue to grow. In fact, the inauguration of the TUROMAS Innovation and Special Developments Center (CIDET) (In the [The TUROMAS Colombia Team] section) in July marked the beginning of an ambitious expansion plan for the coming years.
TUROMAS and the Latin American Market
The Latin American market is considered one of the most important for the TUROMAS expansion project, which is why it has opened its third branch. The other two subsidiaries, in Sao Paulo and Santiago de Chile, were inaugurated in 2016.
The Spanish company’s interest in continuing to export its smart machinery for glass storage, loading, and cutting to the South American market leads it to face this new opening with enthusiasm and commitment, while continuing to work to increase and consolidate its presence.
