TUROMAS received the runner-up award for Innovation and Digitalization at the 3rd SME Award, organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Teruel and Banco Santander, in collaboration with Diario de Teruel. The awards ceremony took place yesterday, Thursday, October 14, in the Assembly Hall of the Chamber of Commerce of Teruel.
These awards aim to recognize the performance of small and medium-sized companies in the province of Teruel, whose activity is essential for the creation of employment and wealth at the local level.
The main SME of the Year 2021 award in Teruel was granted to Oxaquim S.A., the only European manufacturer and the second in the world of oxalic acid. The company, based in Alcañiz, has a presence in more than 80 countries.
The three runner-up awards — Innovation and Digitalization, Training and Employment, and Responsible Company — were granted to TUROMAS S.L., Viarcín Platea S.L., and AZAFRÁN DE TERUEL LA CARRASCA S.L., respectively.
In addition to the three runner-up awards and the main prize, a Special Mention was also awarded for the best initiative to adapt to the pandemic situation experienced in 2020. This recognition once again went to Viarcín Platea S.L., a company dedicated to ham boning and molding.
Antonio Ortega, CEO of TUROMAS, received the award from Antonio Santa Isabel Llanos, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Teruel.
In his speech, Antonio Ortega emphasized the importance that innovation and development have had — and continue to have — in a technological company such as TUROMAS.
He highlighted the fact that from the very beginning, Miguel Tomás, founder of this project, established the company on that basis: to devise solutions to problems through technology. Today, this remains the core principle on which the company is built.
He also took the opportunity to thank the entire TUROMAS team and dedicated the award to them, since without their work it would not have been possible to overcome these two years of pandemic.
